Fight History

“I always loved the sport of boxing.” said rising heavyweight sensation Jose Luis Roque. “I went into the gym and picked it up very quickly. I was beating up guys in sparring who were much more experienced than me, so I decided to turn pro.” That is all it took for the explosive fighter with no amateur experience to move into the heavyweight scene and he did so with a splash on December 15th 2007 at the SE Livestock Pavilion in Ocala, Florida, with a second round stoppage of two fight veteran Christopher Boykins.

It wouldn’t be long before the heavy handed Nicaraguan was back at it with another explosive knockout. Just a few months later, on February 21st of 2007 at the Miami Beach Gardens in Miami Florida, Jose needed only a minute and nine seconds to dispose of Trevor Simmons.

Fights began to fall out for the fighter with power in both hands. Finally, sixteen months later on June 26th at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Florida, a fighter was willing to step into the ring with him again. His name was Miguel Ramos and at least he made it out of the first round, but it would not last much as Roque pounded him out at two minutes and forty two seconds of the 2nd round.

“I wanted to fight more often and the fights just weren’t coming, so I stepped away from the sport I love.”

Now married with a four month old child named Jeremiah Jose Roque, The heavy handed Roque felt his world was in order and the time was right to give his dream another chance, so he returned to the gym to continue his quest for a future world title. Training under Gustavo Trujillo at Extreme boxing in Hialeah Florida, Jose Luis Roque quickly rounded back into shape and began to look for a match. This time he knew proper management was a must to truly make his dreams come true.

“I needed a management group that was honest with me and would do their best to help me move my career along the right way and to work in my best interests. After a few recommendations I called MAK Boxing Management and it was a perfect fit, said Roque.” The deal was done and the journey now begins for the world to see the future of the heavyweight division.

“I would describe my style as that of a young George Foreman. I go in there to knock my opponents out. When I get in the ring, you are guaranteed an exciting fight. I give it my all and I am sure you will be satisfied when you see me in the ring.”

Standing at 6’ 4” and weighing in at 250 pounds, Jose Luis Roque is the perfect size to compete with almost anybody the heavyweight division has to offer.

“I dream of becoming a world champion. I live to be a world champion. It is what drives me and I will someday have a world title belt around my waist.”

Stay tuned for further details on his next fight, which will be announced shortly. Just don’t blink when Jose Luis Roque steps into the ring because it may be over before you open your eyes.
